A fire incident unfolded in New Town's Jyotinagar as two gas cylinders exploded, resulting in a rapid spread of flames that engulfed three houses. The affected houses, constructed with bamboo on marshy ground above water, succumbed to the fire within a short time.
Owing to the densely populated nature of the area, two fire engines faced challenges in reaching the spot promptly. Local residents took immediate action in attempting to control the fire before the arrival of the fire brigade.
